The company is a leader in the production, formulation, development and marketing of chemical specialties for the textile and non-woven, coating and self-adhesive sectors

With over 70 years of experience in the sector, the company invests in technological innovation and safety, with a view to absolute sustainability in full compliance with environmental standards.
The company needed to adopt a Project Management tool, in order to formalize the Portfolio of Projects managed in the 4 production sites. The choice therefore fell on Microsoft Project Online.

During the analysis activity, the need was highlighted to support the project selection process by means of an approval workflow, capable of formalizing the interventions of the Steering Committee; in addition, the need to train Operational Managers in the use of Project Management tools has emerged, through the implementation of a specific environment for the management of:
  • Portfolio Projects of 4 production sites (EPM);
  • management of each single project (PM);
  • management and allocation of the annual CAPEX divided by site and overall
Following an analysis of the need for detail, the configuration of the environment was defined, then proceeding with the uploading of the projects; finally, the following was achieved:
  • mapping of the entire 2019 Projects Portfolio and collection of the Portfolio underway in 2018;
  • creation of a Portfolio Dashboard to support the Steering Committee which would allow, through the Power BI filters, to immediately view the distribution of the Capex according to the following parameters: Site, Year, Type of project;
  • creation of the Project Site in which to collect all the formal and informal documentation relating to the project and in which to convey (through a custom automation) all the emails and attachments relating to the project itself
Achieved Results
The project brought about several improvements within the company; in detail, the implementation allowed:
  • integration with SAP for the visualization through the Dashboard of the estimate associated with the final balance collected through the company ERP;
  • use of Project Online dashboards during all Plant and Projects Committee meetings
